As there was some doubt as to Pendleton’s current standing, he read W.F.P.’s announcement from the pulpit to the Pittsburgh congregation.

Gill’s plan of work for the New York Society interests Pendleton greatly, and he will present it to the consistory as an example of how a pastor should do his job. Pendleton finds Mrs. Lussi’s letter very interesting; He comments that she seems to be a remarkable character, and he wonders when anyone will actually meet her.
